Position: Security Officer
REPORTS TO: Security Manager
PLACE OF WORK: Resort property and Grande Sports World
JOB SUMMARY:
Providing security and safety for the property, personnel, guests and Academy students. Perform protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesirable conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property, to maintain a safe and secure environment. Spend majority of shift on foot patrol, walking, climbing stairs of the interior and perimeter of the hotel and Grande Sports World facility, to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions. To be the eyes and ears for our guests and managers, and observe and report anything unusual. Documentation of all security activities on a given shift. Documentation of employee issues and guest incidences. Liaison with the Sheriff’s Department on security issues. Investigate any drug, alcohol, theft situations with employees and handle accordingly, following up with the appropriate documentation. Oversee large functions to be sure guests are in a safe environment. Knowledge of the Arizona liquor laws. Perform “bed-check” counts that Academy students are in their rooms. Be on hand to assist bartenders, supervisors or managers if they need assistance with a difficult guest. Provide excellent customer service to our guests.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide the assurance of safety for all guests and employees at the Resort.
- Patrol the grounds, common areas, hotel and golf course, offices and parking areas, and Grande Sports World facility, making sure all areas are secure.
- Respond to calls to handle employee issues and security needs for employees and guests.
- Documentation of all security activities on a given shift.
- Documentation of employee issues or guest incidences.
- Liaison with the Sheriff’s Department on security issues.

- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Customer service skills.
Previous security and/or police experience.
Strong work ethic.
Clean background, have no convictions for felonies or any crime involving moral turpitude or illegally using or possessing a dangerous weapon.
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of Arizona alcohol laws.
ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to write reports clearly and concisely.
Ability to physically walk the Resort and surrounding areas, climb stairs, use hands, arms, shoulders.
Ability to handle possible difficult situations in a calm and professional manner.
Have a high degree of integrity.
Be of good moral character.
Computer skills to include reporting and email
Ability to use tact and discretion with our guests.
