Full Job Description
This is a hands-on position as Assistant Chief Engineer. Knowledge of all areas of maintenance and renovation, air conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical/electrical, pool maintenance, drywall, carpentry, masonry, and painting. Support the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chef Engineer in coordinating and directing the maintenance and renovation of all buildings. Scheduling of daily work projects, assigning daily work and projects for members of the Engineering team. Schedule and/or perform preventative maintenance duties. Ability to supervise employees. Outstanding hospitality skills for hotel guests.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Knowledge of all areas of maintenance and renovation, air conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical/electrical, pool maintenance, carpentry, drywall, masonry, and painting.
- Support the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer in coordinating and directing the maintenance and renovation of all buildings.
- Supervision of employees, including any disciplinary actions.
- Manage various maintenance and repair projects within specifications, budget, and within labor costs.
- Maintain quality of appearance of interior and exterior of hotel.
- Perform and/or oversee maintenance projects for guest rooms, making the maintenance of guest rooms a priority for the comfort of the guests.
- Understand the fire system operation, performing resets and control panel procedures.
- Assist in education/training of employees on safety issues to comply with all safety regulations.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily coordination with other departments.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Professional appearance, following the Appearance Standards guidelines.
- Research pricing and order supplies, parts, and equipment.
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- One year of experience in the building maintenance and/or construction industry, including staff supervision.
- Time management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Attention to detail.
- Safety management skills
- Clean drivers license required.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, email and time-management systems.
ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to stand, bend, climb, and push and pull items up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to grasp, lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use hands, arms and fingers.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders working at heights up to 30 feet for extended periods of time, often times overhead.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Work as a team player.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Hands on working style with supervisory capability.
