PLACE OF WORK: Engineering Office / The Resort
JOB SUMMARY:

This is a hands-on position as Chief Engineer. Coordinate and direct the maintenance of all buildings and other facilities by performing the duties personally and through the supervision of Engineering supervisors, technicians, and laborers. Ability to hire, train, and motivate Engineering employees. Knowledge of all areas of maintenance and renovation, including air conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical/electrical, pool maintenance, carpentry, masonry, and painting. Ability to compose operating budgets and manage expenses and labor costs. Develop and maintain an ongoing maintenance program for the upkeep of the facility. Maintain quality of appearance of the interior and exterior of the hotel. Maintained routine reports and records of water, electric, and gas utility consumption. Act as liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies. Prepare needed reports as required by the Resort. Outstanding hospitality skills for hotel guests. On call 24/7 for emergencies at the Resort.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Coordinates and directs the maintenance of all buildings and other facilities by performing the duties personally or through the supervision of Engineering supervisors, technicians, and laborers.
2. Ability to hire, train, and motivate Engineering employees.
3. Knowledge of all areas of maintenance and renovation, including air conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical/electrical, pool maintenance, carpentry, masonry, and painting.
4. Understand the fire system operation, performing resets and control panel procedures.
5. . Ability to compose operating budgets and manage expenses and labor costs.
6. Schedule facility modifications, including estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and construction contracts.
7. Develop and maintain an ongoing maintenance program for the upkeep of the facility.
8. Maintain the quality of appearance of the interior and exterior of the hotel.
9. Perform all necessary safety checks and remove all hazards.
10. Maintain routine reports and records of consumption of water, electric, and gas utilities.
11. Acts as liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies.
12. Able to utilize OSHA program and instruct and train staff.
13. Provide Quality Control Meetings and staff training.
14. Prepares needed reports as required by the Resort.
15. A commitment to exceptional guest service.
16. Computer skills to include email, Word, Excel, and time-management system
17. On call 24/7 for emergencies at the Resort.
18. An active member of the management team.
19. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
20. Professional appearance, following the Appearance Standards guidelines, revised Nov 2018
21. All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. A minimum of 4 years of building maintenance and supervisory experience is e required, including air conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical/electrical, pool maintenance, carpentry, masonry, and painting.

7. Clean driver’s license required.

ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Ability to stand, bend, climb, and push and pull items up to 100 lbs.
2. Ability to grasp, lift, or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
3. Ability to use hands, arms, and fingers.
4. Ability to climb stairs and ladders working at heights up to 30 feet for extended periods, often overhead.
5. Ability to pay attention to detail.
6. Work as a team player.
7. Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
