JOB DESCRIPTION
Department: Accounting Status: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Position: AP/AR Clerk Date Prepared: April 2021

REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager
PLACE OF WORK: Accounting Office
JOB SUMMARY:
Daily bookkeeping, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, assistance in updating and training on POS systems, filing, copying and record-keeping.

Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Prepare bank deposits. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Visual One Property Systems program(or similar). Counting and distribution of tips from cash sales to serving and bar staff. Ability to work independently and be a team player. Great initiative and problem solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Daily bookkeeping, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, updating and training managers on POS systems, filing, copying and record-keeping.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding billing and payments. Research and reconcile invoices and statements.
  • Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepare invoices for payment after review of Purchase Orders.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Resolve guest problems with credit card transactions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Visual One Property Systems program (or similar).
  • Counting and distribution of tips from cash sales to serving and bar staff.
  • Ability to work independently and be a team player.
  • Great initiative and problem solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Determined and disciplined with a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance following the Appearance Standards guidelines.
  • Assist in other general accounting activities and projects as needed. (Enter Journal Entries, balance accounts payable and other operating accounts, etc.)
    17. Will be covering for night Audit when needed.
    18. All other duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • One or more years of experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Inventory experience.
  • Cash handling skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Visual One Property Systems program (or similar).
  • Hotel experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent communication, oral and written skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and other general computer functions, experience with Visual One or similar POS system a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to multi-task and see projects through to completion in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, lift, bend, climb stairs (office is upstairs), use hands, arms.
  • Must be able to communicate well, read and concentrate.
